# ScoutedLead ScoutedLead is a lead-generation service from 45Squared LLC (Chicago). It finds local businesses that fit a customer's product, checks each business on its own website in a real browser, and delivers the lead with the reason to reach out and the evidence. Each customer gets a playbook: what to look for, which businesses qualify, what the outreach says and where the leads go. ScoutedLead drafts outreach; a person reviews and sends it. ## Scouted leads for web studios and agencies. URL: https://scoutedlead.com/for-agencies/ ScoutedLead finds local businesses in your markets whose websites have a specific, fixable problem: no online booking, a “Not secure” warning in Chrome, or a homepage that isn’t built for phones. Each lead arrives with the evidence, a neighbor comparison when it’s convincing and a draft first email you review and send. Start with a free pilot of 25 scouted leads. What we look for The best opening line is a problem the owner can see for themselves. They don’t have to take your word for it. We check for three: No online booking for businesses whose customers expect to book online, said only when the homepage, loaded in a real browser, has no booking button, link or booking system. “Not secure” in Chrome, or a security warning on the address without “www”, confirmed by Chrome itself. Not built for phones, judged from the homepage as an iPhone loads it. What each lead includes Each lead names the business, its website and the problem. You get the evidence and the date we checked. You also get the owner’s name when the site gives it, plus the email and phone the site lists. When we checked enough nearby businesses, you get a neighbor comparison, such as “9 of the 12 other chiropractors we checked nearby take online bookings”. We count it from the same run. We never guess it, and we leave it out when the numbers are weak. The draft first email leads with the problem, offers the preview and asks one question. It includes your mailing address and an opt-out line. After the pilot If the pilot works for you, monthly plans are priced by how many leads you need, how many markets you work and whether you want previews. We’ll send the options with your pilot results. That way you can weigh them against what the 25 leads turned into. There’s no contract to sign for the pilot, and you can stop at any point. Q: What does the free pilot include? A: Twenty-five scouted leads in one market and one business type you choose, each with its reason, its evidence, the contact details the business publishes and a draft first email. You judge the quality before you pay for anything, and there’s no obligation to continue after the pilot. Ask for it through the form on this page. Q: Which kinds of businesses can you scout? A: Independent local businesses with websites: salons and spas, barbers, chiropractors, massage and acupuncture practices, vets, auto repair, trades, restaurants, professional services and more. We leave out chains, franchises and directories. We also don’t scout dentists or medical doctors, because outreach to medical practices needs more care than a cold email allows. Q: What is a preview? A: An optional private web page that shows a prospect what the fix would look like for their business, such as a booking page with their name. It’s marked as a preview, hidden from search engines and removed after 30 days. The first email offers it, and you send the link only when the owner says yes. ## Find the local businesses that need your product. URL: https://scoutedlead.com/for-platforms/ ScoutedLead runs as an integration partner for companies that sell to local businesses. We build a playbook around your product, test it against businesses we’ve checked by hand, then deliver leads in your markets with the reason to reach out and the evidence. Your team, partners or resellers do the outreach under your brand. Playbooks we can build A playbook is the part of ScoutedLead that changes with your product. A few examples: Your product Who we find The reason to reach out Booking software Salons, studios, chiropractors, repair shops No online booking, or a scheduler you can replace Payments and point of sale Independent shops and services in your territory The payment system their site shows today League and registration platforms Rec leagues, clubs and their organizers How they register teams, when registration opens, whether they’re on your marketplace Marketplaces and directories The businesses your buyers search for Not listed with you yet How we set it up We start with a call about your product, your markets and what a good customer looks like. Then we write the playbook, build a test set of businesses checked by hand in your vertical, and run the playbook against it until its answers match. The first live run is one market. You see every lead and its evidence before anything is sent, and the playbook is tuned on what your team says about them. What each lead includes Each lead comes with the business, its website and city, the reason to reach out with the evidence and the date we checked it, and the contact details the site publishes. It also carries the platform it uses today and the fields your playbook asks for. For a league platform, that’s the sport, night, season, venue and price. For an organizer that runs several programs, you get one lead with each program listed under it. Leads can arrive in a spreadsheet, through a webhook or in your CRM, with HubSpot first. Q: How is it priced? A: There are two ways to work together. We can set the pipeline up for your team for a one-time setup fee, or we run it for you on our own infrastructure and you pay for what you use. We quote after a short call, once we know your markets, your volume and where the leads should go. Q: Do you contact businesses on our behalf? A: No. ScoutedLead delivers the leads and, if you want them, drafted first messages in your voice. Your own team, partners or resellers review and send them from your own systems, so you stay the sender and stay in control of what goes out under your name. We never send cold text messages for anyone. Q: What data ends up in our CRM? A: Facts read from each business’s own website: the business name, its website, the reason to reach out with its evidence, the platform it uses today, the fields your playbook asks for and the contact details the site publishes. We don’t put Google review data or ratings into customer feeds, and a field the site doesn’t state stays blank. Q: How do you keep wrong leads out? A: Before a playbook sends anything, we run it against a set of businesses checked by hand for your vertical, and it goes live only when its answers match. Findings are re-checked before a lead is reused, because websites change. When a business tells you a finding is wrong, it becomes a new test case for every customer. ## How ScoutedLead checks every lead. URL: https://scoutedlead.com/how-it-works/ ScoutedLead loads each business’s own website in a real browser, on desktop and as an iPhone, and records every fact as yes, no or unsure with the page it came from. A reason to reach out is only used when the answer is definite. Each playbook is tested against businesses checked by hand before it sends anything, and findings are re-checked before a lead is reused. Why a real browser Many small-business websites build their pages with JavaScript. A booking button from a scheduling service, a page made in a site builder or a phone layout added by a script doesn’t show up in the raw page a simple scraper downloads. A check that reads only the raw page will say “no online booking” about businesses that plainly have it. So ScoutedLead loads the page in a headless Chrome browser, on desktop and as an iPhone, and looks at what a visitor would see. Certificate warnings are judged by Chrome itself. When we can’t load a page properly, because of a bot check, a parked domain or a timeout, the answer is unsure and no claim is made. Yes, no or unsure Every fact we record has three possible answers, not two. “Yes” comes with the platform or the page that proves it. “No” is only recorded from a fully loaded page with none of the signs. Everything else is “unsure”, and an unsure fact is never used as a reason to contact a business. This costs us leads. We’d rather lose a lead than tell a business owner something about their own website that isn’t true. Tested before it sends Each playbook has a test set: businesses in its vertical that a person has loaded in a browser and labeled by hand. Every change to the checks runs against every test set, and a playbook only sends when its answers match. Our first test set has 278 local business websites, each with a screenshot. Re-checked before reuse Websites change. A business that had no booking last month may have added it. Findings carry the date they were checked, and a lead is checked again before it’s reused. When a business says a finding is wrong, we fix the lead and the finding becomes a new test case for every playbook. What we follow We read robots.txt and skip any site that asks crawlers not to visit, and we keep requests to a few pages per business with pauses between them. Businesses can ask not to be contacted, and that request applies to every customer. We never send cold text messages. ## Local leads with a reason to reach out. URL: https://scoutedlead.com/ ScoutedLead is a lead-generation pipeline set up for your product. You tell us who you sell to and what makes a business a good fit. We find those businesses in your markets, check each one on its own website, and deliver leads with the reason to reach out, the evidence behind it and a drafted first message that a person on your team reviews and sends. Built around your use case A web studio, a booking app and a rec-league platform want different businesses for different reasons. A web studio wants businesses whose websites have a problem the owner can see. A booking app wants businesses that don’t take bookings online, or that use a tool it can replace. A league platform wants leagues, the night they play, what they charge and the system they register on. ScoutedLead keeps one engine and gives each customer a playbook: which businesses to look for, which checks to run, which reasons count, what the outreach says and where the leads go. Adding a new use case is a new playbook, not a new product, so every customer benefits when the checks get better. What we never claim Every fact is recorded as yes, no or unsure, with the page it came from. A claim is only made from a definite answer seen in a real browser. If a page didn’t load, or a booking button might be hidden behind a chat widget, the answer is unsure and the business isn’t pitched on it. We don’t promise reply rates, call ourselves an AI sales rep, or use contact details a business didn’t publish. Drafts carry your mailing address and an opt-out line, because every cold email needs them. Who runs ScoutedLead ScoutedLead is built and run by 45Squared, a web studio in Chicago. We use it for our own prospecting first, so every check is tested on outreach that goes out under our own name before a customer sees it. Before a new playbook sends anything, we run it against businesses we’ve checked by hand, and it only goes live when its answers match. Q: Is ScoutedLead a list of scraped contacts? A: No. Lists of local businesses are cheap and easy to get. What ScoutedLead adds is the reason to contact each one, checked on that business’s own website in a real browser, with the evidence kept so your team can see why the lead was picked. A business with nothing worth saying to it is dropped instead of padded into the count. Q: Do you send email for us? A: No. ScoutedLead drafts the first message and a call opener for each lead. A person on your team reads it, changes what they like and sends it from their own mailbox. That keeps every message accurate, keeps your sending reputation in your hands, and means nothing goes out under your name that nobody looked at first. Q: Can it work for my kind of business? A: If you sell to local businesses and something on their websites shows that they need you, very likely yes. We set up a playbook for your product: which businesses to look for, what makes one a good fit, what the first message says and where the leads go. Tell us about it through the form and we’ll say honestly whether it fits. Q: Where does the information come from? A: From each business’s own website: the pages it publishes, the booking or registration system it links to, and the contact details it lists. We don’t guess email addresses or phone numbers, and a field the site doesn’t state is left blank. Businesses can ask not to be contacted, and that request applies to every customer. ## For businesses we've looked at. URL: https://scoutedlead.com/opt-out/ ScoutedLead looks at the public pages of a business’s own website, the way a visitor would, and keeps only business details the site publishes. To ask us not to contact your business or pass it to our customers, send the form below and choose “A business asking not to be contacted”. We add your website to a do-not-contact list that applies to every customer. What we look at We load a few public pages of your website: the homepage, and the contact, about or booking pages it links to. We look for the things a customer would notice, such as whether they can book online, whether the browser shows a security warning, and the payment or registration system the site uses. We follow robots.txt. If your site asks crawlers not to visit, or names our crawler, AXIOM-Research, we skip it. We keep requests to a few pages with pauses between them. What we keep We keep business details your website publishes: the business name, address, phone, the email it lists, the owner’s name if the site states it, and what we saw on the pages, with the date. We don’t guess email addresses, buy contact lists or keep personal details your site doesn’t publish. How to stop it Send the form below and choose “A business asking not to be contacted”. Include your website, so we can match it. We add it to a do-not-contact list that every ScoutedLead customer’s pipeline checks, remove your business from leads we haven’t delivered yet, and take down any preview made for you. Every email drafted with ScoutedLead also carries an opt-out line. Replying to it stops that sender. ## Privacy policy URL: https://scoutedlead.com/privacy/ Who runs this site This website is operated by 45Squared LLC (“we”, “us”), a web studio in Chicago, Illinois. ScoutedLead is one of its products. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact form with “Privacy” in the message. If we change this policy, we’ll update the date on this page. This policy covers this website and the business information ScoutedLead collects. It doesn’t cover other websites we link to, which have their own policies. What you send us When you send the contact form, we collect what you type: your name, work email, company website, which description fits you and your message. We also record the page you sent it from, the time and the website that referred you, if any. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation in 45Squared’s own customer records. We don’t sell it, and we don’t share it except with the service providers that help us run the site and send email. What we count when you browse We count page views without cookies. We record the page, the referring website and a daily visitor count. To count unique visitors, we create a one-way code from your IP address and browser that changes every day and is deleted within 48 hours. We don’t store your IP address in our own records, and this site loads no advertising or analytics scripts from other companies. Business information ScoutedLead collects To find leads, ScoutedLead reads the public websites of local businesses and keeps business details those sites publish: the business name, address, phone number and listed email, the owner’s name when the site states it, and what the pages showed, with the date. We give these details to our customers as leads. We don’t guess email addresses, buy contact lists or collect details a business’s website doesn’t publish. A business can ask us not to contact it or pass it to our customers by choosing “A business asking not to be contacted” on the form. We add its website to a do-not-contact list that applies to every customer. See for businesses for details. How long we keep it and your choices We keep contact-form messages for as long as we’re in touch and for a reasonable time after, as business records. Lead details are re-checked before they’re reused, and details for a business that asks to opt out are removed from leads we haven’t delivered. You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, through the contact form. We’ll reply within 30 days.
